Warrant from Commissioners of the Treasury concerning payments for gardens at Whitehall [manuscript], 1682 July 15.

Payment authorized by Lord Hyde, John Ernle, and Edward Dering, addresed to Sir Robert Howard, Auditor of his Majesty's Receipt of Exchequer. Order to pay Philip Parker £185, 4 shillings, 6 pence owed for the upkeep of the gardens at Whitehall, to then be paid over from Parker to William Wayte, Keeper of the garden "for wages and disbursements for keeping the said Garden and the Fountaine Garden and alsoe for cleaning [th]e Long Stone Gallery within [th]e said Pallace for halfe a yeare ended at Mich[aelm]as 1680." The two bills for this work had been examined and signed by Sir Christopher Wren, Surveyor General of his Majesty's Works. Accompanied by an engraved portrait of Sir Christopher Wren.
